Family Vacation to Land Between the Lakes

We decided to get away to the Land Between the Lakes and have a little fun. So we rented a cabin at one of the many camp/recreation areas located on Lake Barkley. PL was able to sleep in his first BIG boy bunk bed (on the bottom bunk of course). It was a nice, air conditioned cabin that had a little kitchen with 2 separate bedrooms and a bathroom. Just like camping. HA! HA! Mommys kind of camping anyway.

We went to the Woodlands Nature Station on the national recreation area on the Land Between the Lakes and saw all kinds of "critters". PL got to see and learn about all kinds of spiders, bobcats, owls, snakes, turtles, turkeys and frogs. They also had a bald eagle that looked quite impressive. PL sat still long enough to get a snake painted on his arm, which he thought was so coooooool.
We thought for sure after a long morning of looking at critters he would fall asleep in the car on the way back to the camp ground but no such luck. He was way too excited to sleep so off to the pool for fun in the sun. This place had a very nice kid friendly pool with a slide and all kinds of water works for him to walk under and enjoy. He was really enjoying the pool but he was so tired he was having trouble keeping his legs under him so we talked him into leaving to go to the park to swing. We had a great time and plan to go back soon.
